Dee Felgus, licensed professional counselor

Meet your counselor & guide

Hello, I'm Dee Felgus

I'm a licensed, certified professional therapist. I've been through a lot myself, and I continue to learn, grow and explore with my clients. If I can help you connect to who you truly are and live your fullest life, I've fulfilled my purpose.

My mission is to build a compassionate, trusting relationship with you. From there, together, we can start to bridge gaps and integrate parts of you that may have been lost to your lived experiences, including abandonment, neglect, trauma, black-and-white thinking, upheaval from loss or major life changes, outdated childhood beliefs, and confusion about life purpose.

How I've guided others

What clients say

Dee has helped me heal through some extraordinarily difficult parts of my life by using a combination of counseling and spiritual healing. I always felt at ease with her gentle presence and confidence. Dee is very intuitive and always seems to know the right questions to ask to help you get to the areas you need to be working on in your life.

Current client

I am so glad I was drawn to Dee to start my healing journey. I've referred several of my friends, but only if you're ready to do the hardest, most rewarding self care you've ever done. I wanted to see someone who was Brainspotting certified, committed to equality, LGBTQ+ affirming, and spiritual. Dee checked all the boxes and I felt comfortable talking to her the moment we met.

Frequently asked questions

About therapy with me

How does a virtual therapy session work?

The setup is easy. Once you're established as a client, all I need is your email. You'll get an invite with a link that connects you to me virtually.

I do my sessions online the same as I do in person. I'm able to "pick up" and read between the lines just as I always have. My goal is for every client to feel good, seen and heard, no matter the format, and my clients have told me they feel treatment online is as good as in person.

What can I expect from you in a session?

I'm a bit nontraditional. Other than our first meeting, you'll never see me with a pen and paper in hand. My goal is to offer help starting with the very first session. As soon as you walk through my door or show up on my screen, you have my full attention.

How often would I need to see you?

Everyone is different. I recommend weekly or every two weeks, but you know yourself better than I do, and we'll set the frequency based on your needs. A few clients check in once a month.

How long will I be in therapy?

There's no right or wrong answer. Some people do short-term therapy for a specific situation; others are on a longer healing journey to be the best they can be. My motto: "You already know what you need to heal. I'm here to guide you." I never claim to know more than you do.

What if I see you a few times and don't feel comfortable?

There are as many amazing counselors and healers as there are people, and each has their own style. It's important to me that you work with the best person for you. If that isn't me, I'll do my best to recommend someone who is, and it won't offend me.

How does confidentiality work?

Nothing you say in session goes any further than you and me, unless there's a threat of suicide or homicide, or a child is being abused. If I need to share information with anyone, including a doctor, spouse or psychiatrist, you first sign a Release of Information. I take everyone's confidentiality seriously.

What insurance do you accept?

I'm in-network with Alliance, Auxiant, Quartz, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). I'm out of network with several other insurance companies, so feel free to call with your insurance information. I'm not in the WPS network at this time, and I don't take BadgerCare, Medicare or Medicaid.

My assistant or I will check your benefits for you, usually online. I'll let you know your deductible and where you are with it. Co-pays are collected at the time of your appointment.

What if I don't have insurance benefits?

You can private pay. A session is $119.

What if I can't make my appointment?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and there's no fee. Things come up, and I understand that. The fee for a missed appointment or late cancellation is $50.

Can I bring someone to my appointment?

Yes, as long as it would benefit your session. You're always my first priority. I just ask for advance notice so I can prepare.

Are appointment times flexible?

Yes. Some people book week to week, while others like a set day and time. You can also book online.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes. My office is at 2564 Branch Street, Middleton, WI 53562.
